“Night Stalker” suspect Richard Ramirez bragged to a jailer that he killed 20 people, saying he liked to watch them die and even posed with the bodies for gruesome self-portraits, court recordings show. “I would shoot them in the head and they would wiggle and squirm all over the place, or cut them with a knife and watch the face turn real white. I loved all that blood,” a sheriff’s deputy quoted Ramirez as saying what authorities say was a spontaneous confession last fall.
In a transcript of the alleged confession released by the court Thursday, Ramirez also said that after some killings he would “take a camera and set the timer so I could sit them up next to me and take our pictures together.” Deputy Jim Ellis said Ramirez, a reputed devil worshipper approached him at County Jail in October, about six weeks after his capture, and began the conversation by telling him: “I killed 20 people in California. I was a super criminal. No one could catch me.”
